You got a tattoo?!?

No, I didnt get a tattoo....but secretly I want one.  Ssh! Dont tell anyone!
My parents are gonna read this and be like, what the h-e-double-hockey-sticks?!?
Ok they wouldnt say something like that but they will probably say that I'm crazy.
But lately, Ive known several people that are getting tattoos, some cool, some not.
It just makes me want one.
Does that make me a conformist?

nah

Anyways, I was just thinking about IF I got a tattoo, where would I put it, and more importantly, what would I wanna put on my body that is gonna be there for.....FOORREEEVVEERRR (cue Sandlot)....?
I would probably put it somewhere that wasnt very visible, that I could hide if I wanted to.
I also like the idea of it being on the side of my foot.
One of my friends got hers behind her ear.
OUCH!
I feel like that would hurt like no other!

So what would I get?
I narrowed it down to a few things....
Ok, I really didnt narrow it down.

I would go for something that means something to me and not just something stupid.

I might do something musical....like these.

Love this one!

So those are kinda cool right?
I like the first two the best.

I also thought about getting something written in Spanish. Mainly because I love the language, and because of my little Ecuadorian babies.

We got rings when we were in Ecuador that say "Mirad a vuestros pequenitos" which means "Behold your little ones."
It would just be a good reminder of the wonderful, unforgettable time I had there.

And lastly, I would most definitely get something Harry Potter related.  Yep, dont judge, you know thats an AWESOME idea.

Here are some that I liked.

Dumbledore: "After all this time?"
Snape: "Always."

The Deathly Hallows!

Just a small one? Thats not too bad right?
Ha! Yeah right, even if I did it, I would probably cry like a baby.
What kinds of tattoos would yall get?
Well, I gotta run!
See ya soon!

Finals week...

...is kicking my butt. Ugh. All I wanna do is sleep.
But i cant.
Too much stuff to do.
I will admit though, I have taken a nap or two here and there.
My semesters are always so different when it comes to finals.  Sometimes I have eight HUGE tests, and then there are times like this when I have 3 tests and 4 projects and 2 papers to do...seriously?
Have I started on my papers? No.
Projects? Sort of...
Spanish test. Yes.
Voice Jury. Yes. (this is the one I'm terrified of)

And to top it off...finals week is ALWAYS the week of/during/after General Conference Weekend.
How am I supposed to do all of that stuff AND watch General Conference?
Come on...
We go to a church school, you would think they would take that into consideration
Am i right or am i right?

Oh well, bring it on.  Even though its stressful, it usually turns out well in the end.

So today is my lovely sister LILY's birthday.
She is a wonderful person and someone I definitely look up to...well sometimes...just kidding.
She is turning 19, gees, I feel old.
She is beautiful, makes everyone feel included, funny, awkward, nice, smart, caring and she can cook.
She likes to sing, stay on the internet for hours, and loves HARRY POTTER. (We have that in common...) She cooks, loves Dr. Pepper, loves basically ALL foods.  She has hundreds of friends, who she stays in touch with, and loves the gospel with all her heart. She loves Chick-fil-a, Red Robin, and Jim n' Nicks, to name a few... She loves animals, painting/drawing/ doing art.... and messing up spaces...and last but not least, shoes and clothes.  Oh and the thrift store. She will kill for a bargain.

Things she doesn't like...

School
Usually the people I date
getting up early
chores
People (more specifically my parents) telling her what to do

Those are just a few.

Basically she is awesome and a guy would be lucky to have her in his life.
I know I'm lucky to have her as my sister.
We may not talk all that much, but when I get back from school, or just from being gone, its like I never left.  She may be a slob, but I still love her.
Happy Birthday Lil. I love you!

Happy Birthday Sis!

Mommy dearest...

Guess what today is?  Its my MOM's BIRTHDAY!!!!!! Woohoo!  I wont tell you how old she is because she might just kill me.  But lets just say, she's old enough to be my mom.  Anyways, she is basically the BEST mom in the world.  I don't care what y'all say. My mom is the BEST.  Not your mom is not the best, mine is. I would say that she and I have the most in common between her and my dad but, I think its evenly shared.  I would put a pic of her on here, but just like my Dad, she doesn't like her picture taken so I don't even have one of her.  Plus, she probably wouldn't appreciate her face plastered on the internet.
My mom is awesome for many reasons....

She enjoys GLEE just as much as I do.  Another show that we enjoy watching together, and when were apart?  SURVIVOR. That is not weird. We love it.

My mom loves makeup just as much as I do...Im gonna take a shot in the dark and say that my live of makeup might have come from her...just a thought.  One kind we both love and sometimes she buys for me, ok lets be honest, most of the time.  I am so grateful for that because this stuff is expensive.

This stuff is, in a word, magical...

Speaking of magic...My mom LOVES the Harry Potter series.  Not quite as much as my sister and I do, but she loves it.  I mean its kind of hard not to love.  She has gone to see several of the movies with my sister and I, when its not the midnight showing.  But we see it so many times in the theater, that she has many opportunities to accompany us.  Im so glad she wasn't one of those moms that refused to let their kids read the series.  Like really?  HP is one of, if not the best series ever written.  She is awesome.  Most of the time she would finish reading them before me and my sister because she reads WAY fast.  Thats another thing that she loves.  Reading.  I would say its probably her favorite thing to do.  Another thing I got from her and my dad is my love of reading.  My mom takes a book wherever she goes.  She is always reading a book.

If my mom had a library, it would look like this one.
She has probably read this books or more in her lifetime,
this is the library from Beauty and the Beast.
When I get famous Mom, I will build you this library.

My mom was born and raised in the good ol' state of ALABAMA and she has five brothers and sisters.  She grew up on a farm and has a work ethic like no other.  Probably because she spent her summers on the farm and didn't have much fun...like we did as children.  But because of her and my Dad, I would be way lazy.  I know so many people that their parents didn't make them do chores all around their house without pay, but we did.  So I can assure you, my kids are gonna work.

My mom loves music.  Just as much as I do.  She sings like no other.  Her voice is amazing and I just hope and pray that someday I will have the power and talent that she has.  People always want to hear her sing.  But once you've heard her, you'll want to hear it all the time.  She has sung at numerous weddings and funerals.  Can you imagine being so good at singing that people put it in their will that they want YOU to sing at their funeral? Sometimes I get to sing duets with her and its magical. SHE.IS.AWESOME.  No joke.
When I was a kid, every saturday, when we would clean, we always had music playing.  It was always on in the car.  I always associate my mom with music.  This summer, she and I are gonna go see
JOSH GROBAN in concert and I am so so so so so so excited.  Dad, you can come too.
We love him.

One of my moms favorite things to say to me?
"Sara, happiness is a choice." Thats it.  There have been times in my life when I haven't been happy, surprising right? Haha not.  Anyways, she always tells me this and to this day and for the rest of my life I will always remember that. Whenever Im unhappy, I always think of my mom telling me that, and immediately TRY to change my mood.  Sometimes it works, but sometimes I like to be mad or hold grudges. Weird, I know.

My moms favorite thing to eat?
Anything sour. Or any hard candy. Also Bubble Gum.  No, not chewing gum, BUBBLE gum.

My moms favorite movie?

Um, if you haven't seen it, then you need to.
STAT. Its only amazing.
My mom is also a big supporter in getting even. (Hopefully she wont kill me for putting this up here)
Now, I haven't exactly witnessed any of this but I have heard stories, and I don't doubt it. When I want to get someone back, I call her and she always has the best advice.

Basically my mom is the best, if you haven't yet noticed.  She is always there for me when I am upset.  She is always willing to help.  People love her because she is so awesome.  No one could ever replace my mom and I am so glad I get to be her kid. I love her oh so much.  Mom you are the best, I hope you know that. Thanks for all the crap I put you through my whole life.  Thanks for always being there and for helping me through everything. Thanks for always going to my concerts and supporting me and my dream.  I haven't seen my mom in almost eight months, which is killer.  I love cracking jokes with my mom and just talking to her about random stuff.  She is the best, I think I already said that, but she is.
I love you mom and I hope you have a wonderful birthday!  You deserve it!

What Im Loving Wednesday

So a lot of bloggers do "What I'm loving wednesday" so, since I didn't have any other things to write about this is what Im doing.  Also I  like making lists, if you haven't already noticed, so here goes. Side note: I might also throw in some things I don't love, sorry, Im not happy all the time, like you guys might think...bahaha who am I kidding, Im not like that...EVER. I try not to complain about things so I try to make them comical for my sake and for the sake of others.

  1. Im loving that GLEE is back on TV.  Life just got a whole let better.  Like seriously...did y'all see last nights episode? It was so precious, and I don't know how I feel about Finn and Quinn, but I guess we'll see what happens won't we?

        2.  Im loving the fact that tonight, I don't have to do any homework for tomorrow, that is the first
time this semester that this has happened.  Hopefully I will get something done for Friday, but
if I don't want to do anything, then Im not going to. It.feels.good.

       3. Im loving that my fantastic friend, Amber Duke, is back from Ecuador, but at the same time sad,
because now I feel like I have lost my connection to Ecuador and all of my babies. But basically
she is amazing. The fab four is back in the states in full form. The world needs to watch out. Just
          sayin.

       4. Im loving this quote.

     5. I'm loving that Baby Bieb's movie is coming out this weekend.  So I mean you could sort of say
I have BIEBER FEVER.  But I'm not like in love with him, that would be gross.
He's like ten. But I do enjoy listening to his songs, its kind of a guilty pleasure of mine.  Don't judge.

I also enjoy this newer song of his, along with the music video. This is for you, Amber.

Amazing.

    6. I am NOT loving that I had to walk to class this morning in -14 degree weather with a -27
       degree wind chill. Not cool.

    7. I am NOT loving the fact that I have to do my laundry because I am seriously about to be on
my last pair of underpants, sorry that was way too much information, but I had to complain for a
      second.
Basically this, but add two more feet to it...yikes
    8. Lastly, I am loving this cake and I want it for my birthday, which is September 16, for those of you
who think that they might want to make it for me. Just a thought...

Yes, this is a cake, and I would like it chocolate, with
chocolate filling. Thank you in advance.

What are you guys loving this week?

So much has happened...

So, like the title says, so much has happened since I last wrote, and I am sorry that I haven't been able to write, I don't have access to a computer very often down here, so when I get the chance I write.  Also since there have only five of us for about two weeks, we are struggling.  Usually we go to bed at nine o'clock every night because we are exhausted!  Tomorrow we go down to four volunteers, which should be way interesting... But anyways, since I last wrote, we have been to Otavolo, we saw Harry Potter 7, and we had Thanksgiving, all of which have been eventful.

Otavolo is the biggest outdoor market in South America and we got to go! It was so sweet too! There were so many stands selling so many things, it was ridiculous.  I really cant explain to you in words how wonderful it was so I'm just gonna show you in pictures.

Cool huh?  We spent all kinds of money there, but luckily we got our Christmas shopping done!  Another place we went while down there was called The Pie Shop.  Let me just tell you, I have tasted heaven, and if all of heaven is that great, then I don't know what I'm doing here.  They have awesome sandwiches, but its sure not called the pie shop because of their sandwiches.  We tried their apple and chocolate pies.  The apple was good, but the chocolate was.... well there isn't a good enough word to describe the chocolate pie.  Just Heaven.  In my whole life, I have never and probably never will have another pie that tastes as good as that one.  I would come back to Ecuador just to have some of that pie...oh and to see my babies, that probably should be reversed, but thats how good it was.

Us enjoying the pie.
Another thing that we did, we saw Harry Potter 7, and...It.Was.Awesome. Need I say more?  Ok I will, I laughed, I cried, I was scared and I was happy.  For the most part, I cant wait til the last half comes out! The only thing is, I don't want it to end! Aaah! What will I do with myself?!  I cant' believe that ten years have come and gone that the first movie came out and I saw it with my mom and my cousin, when I was eleven years old, the night it came out and then again the next day.  Incredible.

The last thing I have to write about is Thanksgiving and how we celebrated here in Ecuador.  As you may know, Ecuadorians don't celebrate Thanksgiving, I believe only Americans and Canadians celebrate it, but don't you fret, we had an American Thanksgiving with our Ecuadorian family.  The Chicaizas cooked the turkey and it was off the chain! It was so good! We also indulged in, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, homemade rolls, a green salad, pumpkin pie, pumpkin roll, and apple pie.  We didn't eat until about eight o'clock that night because we still went to work in the orphanages even though it was Thanksgiving, but that was why it was so rewarding in the end.  Also, you should be impressed because I HOMEMADE the pie crusts, my mom doesn't even do that, even though I assure you she can because my mom can make anything delicious, just ask my dad.  Now I wouldn't have resorted to this, had they sold them at the Supermaxi, but they don't, so I made them with my own two hands.  They turned out delectable!  I wish I had a pic to show you, but I don't, sorry.  That was my thanksgiving in Ecuador, it was awesome.  I missed my family in the states like a fat kid misses cake.  It was my first thanksgiving not at home with my fam, so it was hard but Im so glad I was here in Ecuador, because I still got to be with people I love, my babies.

Well I have to go, but stay tuned til next time, when I will be writing about the bull fight I will be attending tomorrow and another field trip.  I Love Yall! Chao!
